Agri- Food Immigration Pilot: Which Farm workers are eligible?
Agri-Food Immigration Permanent Residence Pilot: Which Farmworkers are Eligible?
The Agri-Food Pilot Program began in May 2020 and is designed to address Canada’s labour shortage in the agriculture—food sector by encouraging foreign farmworkers, specifically experienced, non-seasonal workers, to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
However, not all farmworkers are eligible to apply. Below is a list of eligible industries[1]:
- Meat product manufacturing
- Greenhouse, nursery and floriculture production
- Animal production, excluding aquaculture:
- Cattle ranching and farming
- Hog and pig farming
- Poultry and egg production
- Sheep and goat farming
- Other animal production
If you are a foreign non-seasonal worker who works in any of the above industries, and would like to determine your eligibility for Permanent Residence, you may contact us for a free 30 mins consultation.
This program is expected to run until May 2023.
