Atlantic Immigration Pilot: An Alternative to Express Entry?

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot is one of the few employment-based permanent resident sponsorship programs which does not require foreign skilled workers to apply for Permanent Residence via Express Entry. The Pilot was created for the benefit of employers within the Atlantic provinces to seek foreign skilled workers and international graduates where the need could not be met in the provinces.

Before the Atlantic-based employer can hire the foreign skilled worker, the employer must be first Designated to do so.  Once Designated, the employers can then make offers of employment to foreign skilled workers, under the Province’s guidelines. Only after the Atlantic-based employer has been Endorsed and a Settlement Plan created, can the foreign employee apply for Permanent Residence and/or Work Permit.

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot has been extended until December 2021.

If you are an employer seeking to hire a foreign skilled worker or international graduate, or you are a foreign skilled worker who has an offer of employment from an Atlantic-based employer, contact our office and we will guide through this complex immigration process.
